Andy Blueman - Sea Tides E.P.
I stumbled across this guys music by chance. I was listening to last weeks Tiestos podcast and 30 mins in he spins one of my favourite trance tunes around at the moment. Its an epic of a trancer and most of it sounds more like something from a film score than a trance tune. It is great stuff and really hits the spot of even the most die hard trance fan. Andrej Komatovic, better known as the music producer Andy Blueman, was born in 1982 in Slovenia, Europe. He discovered trance music in 1997 when buying a CD album called Dream Dance. Since then his interest in trance music has grown very much. Near the end of 2001 Andy finally started to produce his own music, taking inspiration from his older brother, who started producing a year before him. Until recently, Andy was producing with different tools and experimenting with different styles like ambient/chill out, film music, melodic, progressive and uplifting trance, but right now he is producing uplifting trance with his own classical compositions. 2007 showed to be a good year for Andy as he has signed with the brand new record label Perceptive Recordings trough which he released his first single called Nyctalopia (below). He has a new E.P. out. Its called Sea Tides and has been released on Perceptive Recordings. We managed to get our hands on a copy of the new E.P. and here is what we think of our two favourite tracks from it. All of the tracks are below. The title track, Sea Tides (original mix) is the first one on the track list. An amazing track and at an epic 8 minutes long really takes you on a journey from start to finish. The intro of the track gradually builds up with a gentle rythmic lead. A short break 2 minutes in and some gorgeous sounding strings are added. The lead is still galloping away getting louder and sharper, taking us all the way to the first big break down. The strings fade out and the listener is treated to some beautiful pads. Then it all builds up and when it drops, you realise why Andy Blueman is being touted as one of the most interesting and exciting new producers around today. An absolutely stomping emotional trancer.
The next track is Neverland which was my reason for researching this guys music in the first place. A similar intro awaits you on most of his tunes, but they are all so very different once you get into them. Heavily arppegiated sounds and the most amazing soundscapes are the order of the day. On through the intro and we are taken down to the breakdown and this where I think he comes into his own. When you listen to it, I am sure you will agree it could be the soundtrack from a musical (it sounds like the intro music from the Lion King or something). Absolutely incredible sounds and arrangement. As it builds back up, familar arpeggiation of the major chord drifts in and all of the elements come together. This is an amazing build up, then it just errupts and off we go. As this monster thumps on, there are still elements of the breakdown playing in the background. Seriously an incredible tune. One of my favourite Trance tracks of all time.
The other tracks on this E.P. are basically different mixes (energetic mixes) of the two we just mentioned. Apart from one other called Everlasting (emotional mix). I personally think that this mix is better than the original. Check it out.
This guys music bounces between Trance and Classical Music. I think we can expect great things from him in the future, but if I were I would do what we did and buy this E.P. immediately.
Here are the rest of the tracks below.
